Emmaly Langridge has over 15 years experience in the creative sector, working with small to medium arts organisations and local council across the East Coast of Australia.

Raised by a single mum in regional Australia, Emmaly’s access to art was often dependent on subsidies and the generosity of others. This experience informs her leadership within arts and culture – upholding equitable access, removing barriers to participation and reshaping how we talk about and share creative outcomes.

A powerful arts leader, Emmaly has held executive and management positions within contemporary and experimental multidisciplinary arts organisations.

In 2023 as part of her work with Inner West Council, Emmaly led the repurposing of existing council infrastructure for creative activation. All six of Inner West’s historic Town Halls were reinvigorated by the arts sector – resulting in over 2000 hours of fully subsidised space for artists.

As the General Manager of Brand X, Emmaly guided the organisation through expedited growth as the operators of the newly established City of Sydney Creative Studios. Under her leadership, the team worked intimately with City of Sydney to deliver a six-storey state of the art creative precinct for the sector.

Leading Australia’s longest running artist-run-initiative, Firstdraft, as General Manager Emmaly steered the organisation through global instability and upheaval – diversifying income sources, building national and international presentation platforms and enhancing operational structures to support expansion.

Beyond these positions Emmaly has worked with Marrugeku, Utp (Urban Theatre Company), Performance Space and Metro Arts. She has held advisory positions with Inner West Council including the Sydney WorldPride Advisory Group, LGBTQ Working Group and Pride Centre Sub Committee. She has also held board positions with Red Rattler Theatre, and Crack Theatre Festival.
